Very British Wool
Very British Wool is a small, independent business, run by Rainy Williamson from her little smallholding in Lancashire, England where she keeps a small flock of sheep and a handful of chickens.
Started in order to support small scale yarn producers and satisfy the demand for really, truly, British wool yarns, Very British Wool has sustainability at its core. Our ethically produced wool yarns are British through and through from the farm to the finished yarn and can be traced back to the flock, and sometimes the individual sheep, that gave its fleece for the yarn.
Independent British wool growers and yarn producers [usually smallholders or small scale farmers] provide the ultimate in sustainable yarns for knitting and crochet projects and by buying their yarns you are supporting British farmers and directly championing native and rare breed sheep.
You spend many hours crafting your knitted and crocheted garments so its understandable that you want the best quality yarn. Very British Wool offers the very best in sustainable, ethically produced British wool yarns.
Many of our yarns are limited editions, differing slightly from year to year as the fleece crop colours and textures change. This is particularly so where the farm keeps coloured breeds like Shetlands.
We also stock very British non wool yarns such as mohair and alpaca. Just like our wool yarns, they are British through and through.
