Organic Sheepskin Pompom colourway #1001
Organic British sheepskin pompoms are the ultimate way to top a knitted hat.
Each totally sustainable, yet luxurious, pompom is made by hand, here on the smallholding, using traditional leatherwork tools and techniques.
British hand processed wool fills the inside of each generously sized plump pompom and waxed linen secures each one closed. I’m not sure that Neolithic people wore pompoms, but they sewed skins together using linen thread just the way I do today, though their needles were made of bone instead of steel. So, this traditional way of working goes back rather a long way!
Sheep fleece is designed to look after the sheep in all weathers so your pompom will be quite happy on your hat, regardless of what the weather might throw at it.
The natural, undyed sheepskins are sourced from an independent British slipper manufacturer who recycles the smaller sheepskin pieces that they cannot use.
Each pompom comes with several options on how to easily attach your pompom to your hat, and how to look after it.
All parts of each pompom are fully biodegradable.
Pompoms will vary slightly in size depending on the type of fleece it is made from but will be approx. 12 – 15cm across.
